Keith Thompson is the executive director for the Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) of Wytheville, VPMEP's partner that provides manufacturing extension services to Southwest Virginia. Prior to becoming Executive Director, Keith worked as MTC's Senior Project Engineer for 8 years. Trained as an electrical and industrial engineer, he has more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing, primarily in the electronics industry. Areas of industrial consulting capabilities include lean manufacturing implementation, quality system development, industrial safety, process and product development, plant layout and design, six sigma and process improvement. Prior to joining MTC, his industry experience included senior engineering positions with Raytheon Company and Unisys Corporation. Keith holds an A.S.S. from Virginia Highlands Community College, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Virginia Tech, and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
