John
Hudson
is a project manager based in Danville at DanvilleCommunity College. A statistician
by training, he has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing
businesses, including Dan River, Inc. and Tennessee Eastman Company. His
industrial expertise allows to him to apply his consulting capabilities to the
following areas: constraints
management, Lean Six Sigma enterprise, strategic business assessments, quick
changeover through setup time reduction, production
planning and scheduling, inventory management, lead time reduction, applied
statistics, design of experiments, and process control and optimization. Prior
to VPMEP, John worked for Virginia's Center for
Innovative Technology as a regional Director of Technology Assistance and
Transfer. John has helped Virginia manufacturers
significantly increase throughput and reduce cycle time. He holds a BS in
Mathematics and a MS in Statistics from Virginia Tech. In addition, John holds
several professional certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; Jonah in the
Theory of Constraints; NIST-MEP instructor of lean manufacturing techniques; and
ASQ quality engineer. An active member of APICS and their Constraints Management
Special Interest Group, he has served on the Piedmont Triad Chapter Board of
Directors for many years.
